About Us
Our History
The Twelve Apostles Musky Club, Inc. was founded by Stevens Point musky enthusiast, Pete Stelmacher. Pete, along with eleven other local anglers fished together for many years and called themselves the “Twelve Apostles”. In 1977 the group formally organized the Twelve Apostles Musky Club in order to promote the sport of musky fishing in the area.
The Club has grown to over 200 members and is proud to have stocked well over 24,000 muskies in the Stevens Point Flowage and in other appropriate waters throughout the state. The Club has also stocked over 22,000 walleye fingerlings in Central Wisconsin lakes.
Members of the Twelve Apostle Musky Club, Inc. are dedicated to improving fishing opportunities through stocking programs, habitat improvement, angler education, and by sponsoring fisheries research projects and scholarships. We advocate catch and release fishing, for muskies, to help insure quality angling for the future.
Our Members
Currently, the club has over 200 members with monthly meetings held on the first Monday of the month at the Rookies Bar in Stevens Point. Each meeting usually features a guest speaker such as noted musky guides, UWSP fisheries professors, DNR personal, or tackle manufacturers. Also, a club newsletter is published and mailed to members each month.
